I booked a Thomson Cruise with Thorne Travel. The ship was amazing the food fantastic and the entertainment was top notch. I would defenatly recommend this cruise to others. The staff at Thorne Travel were excellent ensuring i had suitable accomodation for my husband that is in a wheelchair. I will be booking another holiday soon

“the Flamingo Oasis always comes out on top!”.

“Just returned from our umpteenth visit to the Flamingo Oasis (28/12/12 to 4/1/13) Stayed in a Club Room again – can’t fault anything about this hotel. The staff are very friendly and always smiling – they can’t do enough for their guests. This hotel is immaculately clean, the food is delicious and varied – something to suit everyone. We met so many people we had met previously on our many visits. Some had tried other hotels in various resorts but were all of the same opinion – they can’t help comparing hotels and the Flamingo Oasis always comes out on top – it really is a perfect hotel.
We always book through Thorne Travel and wouldn’t book anywhere else, in fact we have booked up to the Flamingo Oasis since we came back!
The prices in Thorne Travel are competitive and the staff could not be more helpful!”

I went to Fuerteventura at the start of December and really enjoyed the holiday!
The hotel was fantastic, it was very clean and the staff were polite! At the hotel there was plenty of food to choose from which was all very nice.
I would not hesitate to go back to this hotel or Fuerteventura, the only down fall was the weather, but no one could fix that.
The Thorne travel staff were very helpful and I will go back to book with them in the future!

Staff and partners at the christmas night out!

Hi folks, sorry this blog is a little late, it’s been a busy end of 2012 and a busy start to 2013 in the shop!

December has been a good month, we have all been kept busy with booking for peoples next year’s holidays and weekends away for Christmas presents, and organising people’s tickets and vouchers for going away has been another main thing going on this December
This month we also celebrated out 3^rd birthday! So we had a Party over at the Kilwinning Bowling Club for all out customers where we were able to catch up with them over a glass of wine or a few and some party food, which was great for some of our newer staff to be able to get to know our customers!

As it was the festive period, we had a staff Christmas night out in the Menzies hotel in Irvine, where we had a lovely 3 course meal, a lot more drink than we should have had and a night of dancing away! And I think I speak on everyone’s behalf when I say what a great night it was, us Thorne Travellers sure know how to party!

As you all know we had a raffle going for 10 nights all inclusive at the beautiful Gran Caribe Real Resort & Spa for 2, which we drew on the 29^th and was won by a local man, Mr Shorts. Mr Shorts was absolutely delighted with the win and said it was a great treat to win such an amazing holiday after Christmas.

Everyone then had a few days off to relax over Christmas and New Year where we shut on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day and we opened back up on the 2^nd and prepared for the sales and the rush of bookings for summer holidays.

Apprenticeship Journey (blog 2) – Adele

This week in my apprentice journey has been a hectic one! The shop is starting to get really busy with everyone needing a holiday and something to look forward to after the festivities, so there are plenty of customers always in, on the phone, emailing and face book mailing us. I have been using our systems we use to search and book holidays on to become more familiar with it and putting customers holidays and contact details on so we can notify them to any changes on there flights or when there tickets are in.
I have also been phoning some of our customers who are just recently back from there holiday to ask them how it went and for a wee review on the accommodation, this helps us know what hotels out customers will like, and for me it is helping me to get to know our customers and build my confidence in speaking with them.
I am continuing to update our website as well so all our customers are aware of some of the things we do and the offers we have.

Well that’s a brief summery of the main things I have done this week, I will update you next week.

Life as a travel agent- Megan

Hi,

It has been a while since my last blog; well I think it’s over a year so now I am going to start writing blogs keeping you all up to date with how it is working in the travel agents.

Working in the shop before Christmas was a great feeling as people were looking for extra gifts such as weekends away to theatre shows. It was great to know that we had helped in making some peoples Christmas wishes come true! Our Christmas night out was the most enjoyable, all the team got together and had a lovely dinner at the Menzies in Irvine. It was good to catch up with everyone as not everyone works the same days.

January so far has been a busy month, with the festive season over, the January blues have kicked in and everyone is now looking forward to a break in the sun. Including me, I have just booked two weeks in Benidorm staying at the terralta apartments and will soon be counting down the days until I’m jetting off in search of the sun! I’m sure I will have lots to say when I return so I will write a blog about it and I’m sure it will be a suggestion I can recommend to customers.
