Hi, my name is Megan Ballantyne. I work at Thorne Travel as a Personal Assistant to the managing director, Shona Thorne. My role is to aid the smooth running of Thorne Travel and Thorne Events. Providing a pivotal service not only to the managing director but to staff and all our customers.
I like to travel and have been too many parts of Europe such as France, Germany, and Spain. France being my most favourite because I have been there the most visiting Disney land Paris when I was younger and skiing a few years ago, as well as a few times staying at a few caravan parks.
In June 2011 I spent two weeks in Salou which has a wide variety of activities for all ages. The theme park, Portaventura was not too far from my hotel so I visited it a few times. It has a lot of rides to suit everyone in the family. Whilst in Salou I went on a lot of excursions such as downhill bikes, a boat trip and to the house of illusions. Also this year I have enjoyed a weekend in Blackpool and a day trip to Alton Towers.
I have also been to Egypt, where I stayed in Naama Bay. There are lots of activities that you can do in Naama bay, I went snorkeling which was a great day out, I left early in the morning and went out on a boat to three different locations in order to see a variety of fish. They swim so close to you that you get to see all their colours. We were out all day so lunch was provided and all inclusive drinks. We were back at our hotel in time to get changed and go for dinner. I also went quad biking through the desert on a mega safari day out, there was also the option to do sand buggies if you preferred. After an hour on the quad bikes we stopped at a beduan camp to have lunch with the locals and they had a selection of things to buy. I then enjoyed half an hour on a camel! This was plenty of time. Back on the quads for an hour trip back to the coach where we then set off to the beach. At the beach we had the option to do snorkeling, go on the banana boats, kayaking and also wind surfing it was a great day out and also great value for money. We visited Cleopark which is a Waterpark, it has a few slides but it was quiet when we went so we got to go all the slides lots.
